Tiree is a beautiful island set in the Inner Hebrides 12 miles long by 3 miles wide with a population of about 750.  

Tiree is known for its high sunshine record and has miles of pure white sandy beaches surrounding the island.   It is very flat and great for walking, cycling, bird watching, pony trekking and is also popular for windsurfing and kite surfing.

Tiree can be reached by boat sailing with Calmac, 4 hours from Oban or plane with Flybe, 1 hour from Glasgow.

There are  2 hotels on the island, one of which is in Scarinish, The Scarinish Hotel, overlooking Scarinish Harbour and the other, The Lodge Hotel overlooking Gott Bay where the ferry calls.

Ceabhar Restaurant is in Sandaig approximately 8 miles from Scarinish and offers a varied choice of meals.
The Farmhouse Cafe at Balemartine serve lunches and snacks.  In the summer months there are afternoon teas  at the Alan Stevenson Centre at Hynish.
There are 2 museums on the island which show an insight into past and present island life.  An Iodhlann, Tiree's Historical Centre, in Scarinish just past the Co-op and the Lighthouse Museum at Hynish.

Tyrii Pottery made on the island is available most afternoons from the Baugh premises.

West Hynish is a popular viewing place for seals.
