Tiree is a beautiful island set in the Inner Hebrides 12 miles long by 3 miles wide with a population of about 750. It is known for its high sunshine record; it is very flat and great for cycling and pony trekking and is also popular for windsurfing. There are pure white sandy beaches surrounding the island. There are frequent boat trips from the harbour to the island of Staffa and Fingal's Cave, Skerryvore Lighthouse which is 12 miles from Tiree, and short wildlife and fishing trips.
